I don’t usually write reviews but I had to write about how good my stay at socialtel was, it exceeded all our expectations.

We were only meant to stay in Samui for 2 nights then move on but the hotel was so great we ended up staying for 6! We had just landed in Thailand and It was our first time travelling, both me and my friend had never stayed in a hostel before and we were a bit apprehensive and so we booked Socialtel because it had the option for private rooms which we thought would help ease us into the backpacking lifestyle.

Since staying here we have met so many cool people and we’ve already planned to all meet up again for the full moon next month! I can’t recommend Socialtel enough. As soon as we checked in we were offered a free welcome cocktail and the bar is AMAZING, so colourful and great music playing.

They even have a rooftop bar which was a surprise to us as we didn’t expect it. The beds in the rooms are SO COMFY, at first we thought maybe it was just because we had paid for a private room – but after our 4th night we decided to try the dorms so we could stay in the same room as the people we had met – the staff are so organised and sorted this out for us so quickly (thanks Mercedes).

The dorm room was even cooler it was so great to be able to have 8 of us in a room we all bonded so well. I also think it’s so great how they have a female only dorm also it’s such a good idea for female solo travellers. Mercedes was so great at organising the social events and getting everyone together for drinks, she made it so easy to meet people within a week of being in Thailand I already feel so comfortable and I genuinely don’t think this would have been possible if it wasn’t for Socialtel and their staff.
