Samui Coconut Cycle
Tour Time | 9:30am to 4:00pm |
Availability | Public: Mon & Fri / Private: Everyday |
Detailed Program | The day starts with a transfer to Ban Bangkao Sala Talay where you’ll be fitted with a bike and helmet for the day’s ride around Samui. Afterwards, set off on a leisurely cycle through coconut farms, stopping along the way to learn more about how coconuts are planted, cared for, and harvested.
Continue the ride to a beach bar where you’ll chill out while sipping on coconut juice before heading to a local restaurant. Inspired by Thai cuisine, the menu revolves around the coconut from appetisers to desert. Here you’ll also have a Thai foot massage. After lunch, continue cycling until you reach a plantation that uses the coconuts to create an amazing array of products. You can join in on the process which includes peeling, scrapping, squeezing and burning the husks and shells as they’re transformed into a number of products, including soaps, oils, household appliances and decorations. You’ll then have an opportunity to plant coconut saplings and wander around the plantation. From here you’ll leave your bikes and be transferred by van to your hotel. |

A surprisingly great time! Really wasn’t expecting much, but went with a group of friends I met in Koh Phangan, and we had a blast cruising around the island on our bikes getting to know all about coconuts.
